In an effort to ensure the safety of our young people, staff and dedicated supporters, the leadership of Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) and YEP Fest event chairs have made the difficult decision to cancel YEP Fest 2020, scheduled for Sunday, March 22.
We would like to thank IBERIABANK for being our presenting sponsor, as well as everyone involved in contributing to make YEP Fest a success. It is through your generosity and commitment that YEP is able to serve young people and their families throughout the region. Together, we are empowering young people to improve their lives and the lives of others.
It is with great regret that we cancel this annual event that serves as both a fundraiser and a celebration of the work we accomplish together. YEP needs your support now more than ever. We serve some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community. Many of our young people rely on YEP’s Afterschool Program for a healthy meal each day. We are making immediate contingency plans in order to continue to provide critical services, like evening meal delivery and virtual high school equivalency instruction, to our participants and families in the event that regular programming is interrupted.
Despite the cancellation of the event, you can still help us support the vulnerable youth and families that YEP serves by donating to our YEP Fest fundraising page. You can give today at yepfest.causevox.com. All funds we raise now will be used to ensure that YEP can continue to provide essential mentoring, enrichment, education, and employment readiness services.
Thank you for continuing to support YEP and the individuals and families we serve during this difficult time.
