Youth Empowerment Project

Dear YEP Supporters,

School is back in session, which means our Afterschool Program is once again opening its doors to young people in the community! YEP’s Afterschool Program provides youth between the ages of 7 and 15 with academic support, group activities, educational field trips, mentoring services, daily nutritional meals and assistance with basic needs. Last year, YEP served a total of 65 young people in the program thanks to supporters like you!

Special thanks to…

YEP to Host Brazilian Partner

As you may recall, members of the YEP team went to Brazil in July to take part in a peer-to-peer learning exchange organized by the International Youth Foundation called “(Re)Connecting Youth: Exchanging Global Lessons.” Later this month, YEP will return that hospitality by hosting a group from Rede Cidadã – a Brazilian-based organization that has placed more than 60,000 youth into work across the Latin American nation. We look forward to their visit!

Executive Director Melissa Sawyer will also take part in a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Reimagined in America” webinar on September 13 at 2 pm ET to discuss YEP’s lessons learned from the peer-to-peer learning exchange. To join the discussion RSVP here.
