COVID-19 Update

Our community is currently facing a health crisis with the recent outbreak of COVID-19, which has already begun impacting all facets of our lives. The spread of this virus has caused communities worldwide to reimagine themselves socially, economically, and professionally, and now, we must do the same here in New Orleans.

As a result, YEP leadership has decided to close all YEP offices & stores until further notice to ensure the safety of our staff, our constituents, and the wider community. We not only have a responsibility to our young people, but we must also do our part to help protect all of the most vulnerable members in our community.

Our young people need YEP now more than ever, and we will not stop supporting them. We have developed modified service delivery plans to continue providing critical services to our participants. We have already begun coordinating home internet access and online HiSET instruction, conducting daily check-ins to assess needs and connect families to resources, and providing phone and video mentoring.

As this situation is ever-evolving, we are continuing to listen to experts and policy makers from a wide range of local and national entities to ensure the safety of everyone. Please take good care of yourselves, your loved ones, and our community during this time.
