Megan is originally from Philadelphia, PA and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Temple University. After teaching at a school for adjudicated youth in Philadelphia Megan changed her focus from education to advocacy and began to work with youth in the juvenile justice system. Megan has over 15 years of advocacy and leadership experience her previous employment includes the Orleans Public Defenders as the Special Projects Administrator, the Director of Programs and Administration at Juvenile Regional Services and a Project Director at the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana. She also recently earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Orleans.
70 percent of YEP’s staff members are born and raised in New Orleans and the vast majority grew up in the same neighborhoods that our youth live in. Our staff members’ personal understanding of the challenges that our young people face make them uniquely qualified to provide support to YEP youth.
