The Afterschool Enrichment program is YEP’s newest program that we started in October 2010. This program provides Central City youth (enrolled in grades 1 through 12) with tutoring support and other supportive services that include conflict resolution; anger management groups; and in-house mental health counseling (as necessary). Additionally, the parents of youth participants are offered regular workshops that provide them with a variety of skills and information to help them advocate for their children and navigate community and social service systems.
YEP’s Afterschool Enrichment program operates throughout the duration of the school year between the hours of 3:30 and 7:00pm Monday-Friday and provides a safe and welcoming space for youth. The Afterschool Enrichment program is coordinated by YEP’s Afterschool and Summer Program Coordinator and is supported by AmeriCorps members and Masters-level Social Work interns. Since the program’s inception, over 75 youth have been served.

Youth who participate in YEP’s Afterschool Enrichment program receive both one-on-one tutoring and an array of neighborhood and school-based intervention and supportive services.
